A Luxury Cruise Line gets the Broadway Treatment
Boutique luxury cruise line Azamara takes guests on unforgettable, immersive journeys around the world. However, their entertainment program wasn’t contributing to their standout reputation. They sought our help in making their productions just as memorable as the places they dock.
To take the cruise line’s live shows to the next level, we began with a high-end revamp of the Guest Entertainer program. We partnered with Broadway’s own boutique luxury experience, Feinstein’s/54 Below, to recreate the iconic cabaret and supper club on ship. 54 Below at Sea brought the legendary Manhattan supper club’s roster of stars and show-stopping performances to Azamara Club Cruises, in a space that reflected the elegant and intimate Feinstein’s/54 Below performance space in New York.
The program was such a success that we were asked to overhaul the entire Azamara entertainment program. In collaboration with top Broadway creatives who worked on stage hits such as Miss Saigon, Bronx Tale, Newsies and more, we created nine brand new, signature shows starring top-notch performers. The shows feature musical performances across multiple genres, from classic rock to modern pop, turning Azamara’s Cabaret Lounge into the ultimate concert hall. They’re filled with live musicians, breathtaking costumes and worldwide hits that have every passenger tapping their feet and humming along.
Azamara guests now get to enjoy custom, award-winning entertainment that lives up to the quality they experience on the rest of their trip. The industry has taken notice, too: The new programming won a 2018 Magellan Award for Guest Entertainer Program as well as a 2019 Magellan Award for Production Show Entertainment.
And we’ve only just begun. We’re currently working on a new round of entertainment ideas in an effort to provide fresh experiences for guests each year. Our goal is to shatter industry norms and continue boosting the reputation of cruise ship entertainment, taking Broadway beyond NYC to the seven seas.
